Description

  • Provides professional practice according to the American Board of Internal Medicine or Family Practice. 
  • Upholds and maintains the mission, vision, policies and procedures of Alsana.
  • Acts in conjunction with treatment center leaders and attending psychiatrist to ensure that the interdisciplinary practice model is followed in developing individualized plans of care and maintaining a therapeutic milieu.
  • Maintains clients’ physical and psychological safety always.
  • Provides accurate and ongoing assessment of client status and responds appropriately.
  • Documents client visits according to program policy.
  • Ensures that documentation accurately reflects all changes in clients’ condition and notifies all appropriate care providers as dictated by program policy.
  • Maintains open communication and provides constructive feedback to team members to ensure the facility’s continuous provision of quality care.
  • Acts in conjunction with attending psychiatrist and other members of the leadership team to manage emergency situations in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Demonstrates professional conduct, concern, respect and compassion toward all clients, families, co-workers and the public, as a representative of Alsana.
  • Demonstrates the ability to organize and complete assignments and develop treatment plans.
  • Displays professional appearance in accordance with the facility dress code.
  • Adapts to change in a professional manner.
  • Maintains appropriate certifications and licensure in good standing always.
  • Immediately notifies the Regional Executive Director and Chief Medical Officer and other appropriate persons of any complaint or issue.
  • Maintains own professional liability insurance in good standing always.
  • Monitors laboratory results and responds to abnormal values in a timely manner.
  • Orders medications, obtains informed consents, and documents indications for all medications.
  •  Investigates any adverse drug reaction / allergies and reports significant ADRs to the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in conjunction with the facility pharmacy per policy. 
  •  Supervises and participates in utilization review for clients as needed.
  • As needed, communicates with client families and outpatient providers to ensure communication and transition of care meets Alsana standards. 
  • Performs all other duties assigned by supervisor.
