Brianna (Bri) Campos is a licensed mental health counselor based in New Jersey. As a body image educator and founder of Body Image With Bri, she’s passionate about all things body image and practices through the lens of Health at Every Size® and Intuitive Eating. Utilizing a weight-inclusive approach, she combines her clinical skills and lived experience to teach others how to maneuver through their own unique body image journeys.
What is your current position?
I am a licensed mental health counselor and the owner and founder of Body Image With Bri, LCC, offering body image coaching and education services for providers and clients seeking to improve their relationships with their bodies.
How did you get started in your career?
I worked as a counselor for several years at an eating disorder recovery center. Through my years of practice there, I gained invaluable experience working with individuals with eating disorders and noticed a lack of attention paid to the importance of healing body image as a part of recovery. As someone who had also struggled with body image, I understood how crucial this work was, and so I decided to devote my time and research to creating tools and resources for providers and clients to help improve their relationships with their bodies as well as body image.
What advice would you give someone new to the field?
Throughout our careers, we’re taught to be helpers but not to think like business people. My advice would be to work toward a career that allows for financial freedom and offers continuing education to think like a business person. Living my passion by helping others and having financial freedom has been an incredible experience.
