Abstract: There has been a movement to raise awareness that eating disorders do not discriminate based upon gender, color, sexuality, age, religion, socioeconomic status or body size. While clinicians are increasingly aware and desire to provide more inclusive care, often we have not been trained in how to care for clients with marginalized identities. This presentation will tackle common struggles that clinicians, especially those of us with more privileged backgrounds, face as more diverse clients seek out services. This presentation will invite all of us to explore how we can foster compassion, autonomy and resilience in the lives of our clients.
