Pride and Joy: Positive Emotions and the Treatment of Eating Disorders Using Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy

Abstract: This webinar will explore the clinical utility of positive emotions in the treatment of eating disorders. We will present Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), with its focus on privileging positive experiences of affect and connection, in the treatment of eating disorders. The presenters will use video-recordings of therapy sessions to demonstrate the unfolding of the AEDP therapy process. Specifically, we will focus on the emotional sequelae of experiencing positive emotion in AEDP therapy as it pertains to eating disorder recovery.
